Constitution of Cheer Valley Cheerleading Club
Preamble
We, the members of Cheer Valley Cheerleading Club (hereinafter referred to as "the Club"), in the interest of promoting physical fitness, teamwork, and the spirit of cheerleading in our community, hereby establish this constitution to govern the operations, membership, and activities of the Club.
Article I: Name and Purpose
Section 1: Name
The name of this organization shall be the Cheer Valley Cheerleading Club.
Section 2: Purpose
The purpose of Cheer Valley Cheerleading Club is to:

Promote the sport of cheerleading as a fun, competitive, and community-driven activity.

Provide a positive and safe environment where members can develop cheerleading skills, foster teamwork, and engage in physical fitness.

Offer opportunities for social bonding, leadership development, and personal growth.

Represent the community in local events, competitions, and performances.
Article II: Membership
Section 1: Eligibility
Membership is open to all individuals regardless of gender, race, or background who are interested in participating in cheerleading activities, subject to age and skill level requirements as determined by the Club’s leadership, as long as we have the correct equipment/facilities to do so.
Section 2: Active Membership
Active membership requires regular attendance at practices, participation in events, and compliance with the rules and guidelines established by the Club.
Section 3: Termination of Membership
Membership may be terminated under the following circumstances:

Voluntary withdrawal by the member.

Failure to adhere to Club rules and guidelines.

Behavior detrimental to the reputation of the Club or its members.

Lack of commitment/attendance
Article III: Organization and Leadership
Section 1: Governing Body
The governing body of Cheer Valley Cheerleading Club shall consist of the following elected officers:

Head Coach/Chair: The Head Coach/Chair is responsible for overseeing all Club activities, ensuring that the Club operates in accordance with its goals and objectives, and serving as the primary spokesperson for the Club.

Vice Chair: The Vice Chair assists the Head Coach/Chair in all duties and assumes the Head Coach’s/Chair's responsibilities in their absence.

Secretary: The Secretary maintains accurate records of all meetings, member attendance, and Club activities. The Secretary also handles communication with members and external parties.

Treasurer: The Treasurer manages Club finances, including membership fees, fundraising, and budgeting for events and activities.

Coaches: Coaches lead individual cheerleading teams and represent the athletes in leadership meetings.
Section 2: Coaches
Coaches will be selected by the governing body based on qualifications, experience, and commitment to the values of the Club. Coaches will work with the leadership to guide training and development of the members.
Article IV: Meetings
Section 1: General Meetings
General meetings of the membership shall be held monthly to discuss Club activities, review finances, and make decisions regarding the direction of the Club, this may be online or in person. Members can request to attend these meetings at any time.
Section 2: Practice Sessions
Regular practice sessions will be held as determined by the coaches and leadership. Attendance at practices is crucial for the development of the team and individual members.
Section 3: Special Meetings
Special meetings may be called by the Head Coach or by a majority vote of the governing body for urgent matters requiring attention outside of regular meetings.
Article V: Finances
Section 1: Funding
The Club shall be funded through:

Membership fees (amount determined annually by the governing body).

Fundraising efforts, including but not limited to events, sponsorships, and donations.

Contributions and grants from local organizations or individuals.
Section 2: Budget and Expenses
The Treasurer shall present an annual budget at the beginning of each season. All expenses must be approved by the governing body. Any expenditure over a designated amount (to be determined by the governing body) requires membership approval.
Section 3: Financial Accountability
The Treasurer shall keep track of all income and expenditures and authorise these at the time of declaring.
Article VI: Code of Conduct
Section 1: Expectations
Members of Cheer Valley Cheerleading Club are expected to:

Act respectfully and responsibly at all times, both within and outside of Club activities.

Foster a positive and supportive environment for fellow members.

Represent the Club with integrity and sportsmanship in all competitions, events, and public appearances.

Adhere to the policies and safety guidelines established by the Club.
Section 2: Discipline
Failure to adhere to the code of conduct may result in disciplinary action, including warnings, suspension from practice or events, or expulsion from the Club, as determined by the governing body.
Article VIII: Dissolution
In the event that the Club is no longer able to fulfill its purpose or operate effectively, a vote may be called to dissolve the Club. If a two-thirds majority vote is reached, all remaining assets will be distributed to a charitable organization chosen by the membership.

This constitution was adopted by the members of Cheer Valley Cheerleading Club on 22/03/25
